KUWAIT CITY, July 31: The General Fire Force, in coordination with the Coast Guard, the General Directorate of Residency Affairs Investigations, the Ports Authority, the Labor Force, the Public Authority for the Environment, and the Public Authority for Agriculture and Food, carried out a joint inspection campaign targeting wooden dhows at Al-Shamlan Pier.

During the operation, several dhows were issued notices for various safety violations. These included failure to meet fire prevention standards, the presence of worker accommodations onboard, improper storage of highly flammable materials, use of cooking stoves and gas cylinders, and insufficient spacing between vessels—conditions that significantly increase the risk of fire.

The General Fire Force urged all dhow owners to comply with fire safety regulations to safeguard lives, vessels, and surrounding property.
