KUWAIT: Secretary-General of the Kuwaiti Cabinet, Saleh Al-Mulla, stressed the pivotal role of the ministerial committee tasked with following up on the implementation of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) decisions, describing it as the executive tool that transforms the strategic visions of GCC leaders into tangible outcomes impacting citizens’ lives. His remarks came during the 26th meeting of the committee on Sunday, attended by GCC Secretary-General Jasem Al-Budaiwi.
Al-Mulla highlighted key decisions by GCC leaders that have strengthened integration across economic, financial, trade, environmental, and infrastructure sectors, while empowering Gulf youth in education, training, and innovation. He emphasized that the committee’s work reflects a shared commitment to advance joint Gulf action, build on previous achievements, and address emerging challenges with a unified vision. Al-Mulla called for accelerated ratification and implementation of GCC laws, agreements, and systems to realize leaders’ aspirations and consolidate the Council’s position as a unified and effective regional bloc.

He praised the GCC’s “blessed journey” over four decades, noting the Council’s accomplishments in economy, defense, security, environment, education, and health, and its adaptability in meeting the needs of its peoples. For his part, Al-Budaiwi said the committee plays a central role in promoting deeper Gulf integration and ensuring the effective implementation of Supreme Council decisions. He underscored the importance of unified positions to confront global economic, political, and security challenges, safeguard gains, and maintain stability and prosperity across the region.
Al-Budaiwi commended the dedication of ministerial and technical committees in harmonizing policies, regulations, and joint agreements, describing their work as a successful model for regional cooperation. He extended his appreciation to His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and the government and people of Kuwait for their support in advancing joint Gulf action. The meeting was attended by senior officials from GCC member states, including Dr Essam bin Saeed Al Saeed of Saudi Arabia, Mariam Al Hammadi of the UAE, Ghanim Al Buainain of Bahrain, Hamad Al Mohannadi of Qatar, Sheikh Al Fadhl Al Harthy of Oman, and Sheikh Sabah Ahmed Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah of Kuwait. — KUNA
