KUWAIT CITY, Oct 21: Firefighting teams from Al-Ardiya and Farwaniya centers successfully controlled a house fire in the Rabiya area on Monday evening, evacuating the premises and extinguishing the blaze without any reported injuries.

The teams responded swiftly to the incident, initiating evacuation procedures upon arrival. Firefighters worked efficiently to battle the flames and bring the situation under control, preventing the fire from spreading and ensuring the safety of all residents.

Authorities confirmed that the operation concluded without any casualties.

Irregularities drive retake of doctorate examination

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 21: The Administrative Court of Appeal ruled to annul the results of the entrance exam for the PhD program in Comparative Jurisprudence and Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence at the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies. The court ordered the university to allow a student to retake the exam after finding significant deficiencies in the questions and procedures. In its ruling, the court confirmed that one exam question was ambiguous and unclear despite being allocated ten marks.

The student received a zero on that question, even though the relevant administrative body acknowledged its ambiguity and lack of clarity. The court stressed that the exam duration of two and a half hours was insufficient given the number of required fields of study, which included five subjects, each with a separate textbook. This was also acknowledged by members of the Grievances Committee. In addition, part of the exam time was lost due to changes in a question and efforts to understand unclear questions

Egyptian and his son get 3 years in prison for bribing bailiff

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 21: The Court of Appeals upheld the ruling of the Criminal Court, which sentenced an Egyptian and his son to three years and four months in prison, followed by deportation after serving the prison sentence, for offering a bribe of KD160 to a bailiff at Raqqa Court in exchange for forging a draft court ruling. The court also imposed the same sentence on the bailiff, who has since left the country, including a fine double the bribe amount. It was proven that he is involved in the crime and exploited his position to violate the law and undermine the integrity of the judiciary

The campaign resulted in the issuance of 44 violations related to the illegal encroachment of roads and pavements, primarily involving the unauthorized use of public space in front of commercial establishments without the required licenses.

The inspections aim to ensure compliance with municipal regulations, maintain public order, and prevent encroachment on public spaces, thereby safeguarding the rights and convenience of residents and pedestrians.
