Kuwaiti envoy urges students in Saudi to strive for excellence

RIYADH: Kuwait’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Sheikh Sabah Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah on Monday called on Kuwaiti students in the Kingdom to redouble their efforts and remain committed to academic excellence. Addressing students during a Ramadan ghabga (feast) hosted by the Kuwaiti Embassy at its headquarters in Riyadh, the envoy emphasized the importance of upholding their country’s reputation and serving as exemplary representatives of Kuwait.

Sheikh Sabah expressed his pride in the students, commending them for the positive image they project of Kuwait in Saudi Arabia. He also conveyed the greetings of Kuwait’s leadership on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, praying for Allah Almighty’s blessings and acceptance of their good deeds. Reassuring the students of the embassy’s unwavering support, he urged them to reach out in case of any emergency or inquiry. “We are always here to serve you,” he affirmed. — KUNA

KUWAIT: A fire broke out in two apartments in a residential building in Riggae on Sunday, killing five people and wounding several others. Kuwait Fire Force said in a statement that three people were found dead on the scene, while KFF spokesman Brigadier General Mohammed Al-Gharib said later that two more people died from their injuries in hospital. Gharib warned the death toll could rise due to the severity of some of the burns. An investigation was opened to determine the cause of the fire, KFF noted.
