Amir pays visit to Kuwait Blind Association

KUWAIT: His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah visited on Tuesday Kuwait Blind Association (KPA), accompanied by His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and Acting Prime Minister Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah.

His Highness was received by Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood Affairs, Dr Amthal Al-Huwaila, Kuwait Blind Association Director, Fayiz Al-Azmi, and the Association’s Secretary General Mansour Al-Enezi.

In his speech, His Highness the Amir congratulated the association on the holy month of Ramadan, expressing his pride in all the efforts of the association in helping and supporting those with vision impairment issues.He appreciated the association member’s efforts to their country through sports, events, seminars, and many others, especially the first Al-Baghli Holy Quran Competition for the Blind at the GCC countries level.

His Highness reaffirmed the rights of those with vision impairment, reminding both the public and private sectors to provide them with adequate support, especially through modern technology to ensure they benefit from it.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kuwait Blind Association Fayiz Al-Azmi also delivered a speech on this occasion, in which he said, “On behalf of the members of the Kuwait Blind Association, I extend my warmest congratulations and blessings to His Highness the Amir on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.”

“I also extend my warmest congratulations to His Highness the Crown Prince, the Prime Minister, and all residents of this blessed land. I ask Allah Almighty to have many returns of this blissed occasion to Kuwait under the leadership of His Highness the Amir,” he said.

“Since its founding in 1972, the Kuwait Blind Association has been honored to visit the former Amir’s of Kuwait,” Al-Azmi said. “Such visits, Your Highness, have never been made in any country in the world except in our beloved country, Kuwait, and this reflects your unlimited humanitarian role in empathizing with the suffering of those visually impaired members.

All members of the Kuwait Blind Association pray for your long life, for you to serve Kuwait and its people, and for security, safety, and stability to continue in our beloved Kuwait, so that it may witness many achievements during your auspicious reign. Later, His Highness the Amir received a commemorative gift marking the occasion. – KUNA

NBK sponsors the ‘Green Adventure’ program in collaboration with LOYAC

KUWAIT: As part of its strategic partnership with LOYAC, and within its ongoing commitment to youth and society development, NBK sponsored the “Green Adventure” program aimed to build future leaders. The “Green Adventure” program, which is a unique initiative that combines physical and educational sustainability-related activities, took place in Portugal for seven days.

Through interactive theoretical sessions and practical field activities, the program targeted instilling values of environmental responsibility and sustainability for the youth to become future leaders and change makers. In the program, the students learned sustainable natural landscape and garden designing, in addition to applying sustainable daily agricultural practices to make a positive environmental impact.

The adventure opened many golden opportunities for the participants, such as exploring Portugal’s charming nature, diverse wildlife, and unique environmental systems. They also visited the ancient Moorish castle, and they were able to build connections with same-interest individuals and experts in the field, in addition to achieving a deeper understanding of the relationship between nature and society.

This sponsorship comes as an emphasis of NBK’s leadership in social responsibility and its commitment to investing in future generations, as it firmly believes in the effectiveness of such initiatives that contribute to shaping deeper understandings of global environmental issues, which consequently builds a generation that is strongly aware and capable of facing future sustainability-related challenges.

KRCS chief receives EQUATE delegation, praises partnership

KUWAIT: Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) Chairman Khaled Al-Mughamis affirmed that “our strategic partnerships with donors contribute to developing health services, which helps the “Society enhance its relief efforts in countries facing crises and disasters. This came in a statement to KUNA after receiving on Wednesday a delegation from EQUATE Petrochemical Company, headed by Public Relations and Communications Manager Abdulrahman Al-Munais, who presented him with a donation from the company, consisting of a fully-equipped ambulance.

Al-Mughamis praised the KRCS’s strategic partnership with EQUATE Petrochemical Company, stating that it aims to achieve integration in the humanitarian and social efforts of both sides. He commended the company’s donation of the new ambulance, considering that fruitful strategic partnerships have an effective and direct impact on developing the health services provided by the society in disaster-stricken countries.

Al-Munais expressed in a similar statement to KUNA his pride in the company’s contribution to supporting the association, as it donated an ambulance equipped with all technical specifications in support of the great and distinguished relief role carried out by the Red Crescent, as it is one of the established institutions with noble humanitarian missions. — KUNA
