Three Hospitalized After Boat Sinks; Pedestrians Injured in Separate Accidents

KUWAIT CITY, April 5: Marine firefighters rescued three Kuwaiti citizens after their boat sank near the shoreline. The individuals were taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure, and their condition is reported to be stable.

According to a security source, a report was received from a Kuwaiti citizen indicating that their boat had sunk at sea. Marine rescue teams promptly responded to the emergency and arrived at the scene, where they found the three individuals stranded on top of the nearly submerged vessel. The firefighters successfully rescued them. The cause of the boat’s sinking has not yet been determined.

In a separate incident, a pedestrian was run over on a road in the Hawalli Governorate. The victim was taken to Mubarak Hospital for treatment, and the driver involved in the accident was taken into custody. In a related case, another individual was struck by a vehicle near a well-known shopping mall and was transported to Jahra Hospital. A security source stated that the report was received by the operations room, and traffic patrols responded quickly. However, the injured person had already been taken to the hospital by a passerby before emergency services arrived.

Kuwait targets illegal workshops, vehicles in Fahaheel Industrial Area

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 13:  A joint traffic and inspection campaign in Fahaheel Industrial Area resulted in 93 traffic violations, 93 vehicles seized for failing security and durability standards, four residency law violators referred, six commercial violations reported, and 14 abandoned vehicles removed, the Ministry of Interior announced on Saturday.

The campaign was conducted by the General Traffic Department, in coordination with the Technical Inspection Department, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and Kuwait Municipality, as part of a broader initiative to uphold public order and combat legal violations.

In its press statement, the Ministry of Interior confirmed that the campaign specifically targeted workshops, garages, and vehicles operating in violation of the law within the industrial zone.

The Ministry emphasized that these operations fall under its comprehensive plan to enforce the rule of law and to strengthen public safety and security. It reiterated its commitment to continuing and intensifying such traffic and inspection campaigns in both industrial and residential areas to apprehend violators and safeguard lives and property.
