KUWAIT: Minister of State for Communication and Information Technology Omar Al-Omar affirmed on Monday that the ministry is working in partnership with Google Cloud to develop a cutting-edge national platform for digital integration. The initiative, grounded in global best practices, aims to provide a scalable, institutional, and secure framework for linking government systems.

Speaking to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) following the inauguration of a roundtable discussion for government sector leaders—titled Apigee Roundtable—Al-Omar highlighted the importance of the platform in enhancing government performance. The session was organized by Google Cloud in cooperation with the Ministry of State for Communication and Information Technology and featured participation from key government leaders and decision-makers.

Al-Omar stressed that the platform goes beyond technical infrastructure, aiming to create an integrated digital ecosystem that provides a seamless and efficient experience for users. He emphasized that the initiative aligns with the objectives of the “New Kuwait 2035” vision, adding that its success hinges on sustained collaboration among various government bodies. “Kuwait is entering a new era of digital integration that requires unified efforts and strategic partnerships,” the Minister noted, pointing out that every government entity plays a pivotal role in building the nation’s digital framework.

Meanwhile, Director of Google Cloud in Kuwait Shaima Al-Terkait expressed pride in the strategic partnership with the State of Kuwait, supported through the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA). “This collaboration reflects our commitment to supporting Kuwait’s ambitious digital transformation journey, in line with Vision 2035 and the Minister’s directives to empower both public and private institutions through advanced cloud technologies,” she said.

Al-Terkait noted that the digital linkage of government data and services aims to boost efficiency and service quality by enabling seamless data exchange between entities, accelerating transactions, minimizing bureaucracy, and enhancing operational performance. Vice President of Platforms and Applications at Google Cloud, Rao Surapaneni, echoed similar sentiments, telling KUNA that the digital integration platform—powered by Apigee and Google Cloud’s advanced solutions—will streamline inter-agency connectivity in cooperation with the Central Agency for Information Technology (CAIT).

“The platform will not only enable more efficient services for citizens and residents, but will also foster a secure, forward-looking environment for managing government data,” Surapaneni said. “This is expected to bolster innovation across sectors and accelerate Kuwait’s path toward a sustainable digital economy.”— KUNA
