Kuwait issues 2,841 traffic violations in Salmiya security campaign

The Ministry of Interior conducts a major security and traffic crackdown in Salmiya.

KUWAIT CITY, April 19: In line with its ongoing efforts to ensure public safety and uphold the rule of law, the Ministry of Interior conducted a wide-ranging security and traffic campaign in the Salmiya area on Friday. The operation was led and supervised by the Acting Prime Minister, Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah.

The campaign saw the active participation of all field departments within the Traffic and Operations Sector, with notable contributions from the General Traffic Department, the General Emergency Police Department, the Central Operations Department, and the Special Security Sector. The women’s police unit also played a significant role, enhancing the effectiveness of the campaign and contributing to the achievement of its security goals.

The operation resulted in several key outcomes:

2,841 traffic violations issued

15 individuals arrested for violating residency and labor laws

5 individuals apprehended for absenteeism

17 individuals arrested on outstanding arrest warrants

3 individuals detained for lacking identification

9 vehicles and motorcycles seized for pending legal cases

3 motorcycles impounded for traffic violations

2 individuals were arrested — one for possession of alcoholic substances and another wanted for criminal enforcement

The Ministry reiterated its commitment to continuing such campaigns across all regions of the country to identify and apprehend lawbreakers, stressing the importance of law enforcement visibility and presence.

Citizens and residents are urged to support these efforts by cooperating with security personnel and reporting any suspicious or illegal activity through the emergency hotline 112.

Kuwait Fire Force closes 55 non-compliant shops in Shuwaikh

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 13: The General Fire Force (GFF) conducted a thorough inspection campaign in Shuwaikh Industrial Area 2 on Tuesday evening, in collaboration with key government entities, including the Ministry of Commerce, the Public Authority for Industry, and Kuwait Municipality.

The initiative aimed to identify buildings and facilities that were non-compliant with fire safety and prevention regulations.

As a result of the campaign, 55 industrial establishments and shops were administratively closed for failing to meet the required safety standards. In addition, 83 other establishments were issued notices for not adhering to the General Fire Force’s safety guidelines.
