Meteorologist forecasts hot and dusty weekend

KUWAIT: The country is expected to experience hot weather throughout the weekend, with temperatures peaking during the day and moderating in the evening, according to the Meteorological Department. Director of the Meteorological Department, Dharar Al-Ali, told KUNA that Kuwait is currently under the influence of a high-pressure system, which will gradually give way to a surface low-pressure area accompanied by a hot air mass and southerly winds. These winds, light to moderate in intensity but occasionally active, are likely to raise dust—particularly in open areas—alongside the appearance of scattered clouds.

On Thursday, Al-Ali said, the weather will be hot with northwesterly winds ranging between 8 and 30 km/h. Scattered clouds may be observed, and temperatures are expected to reach between 40 and 42 degrees Celsius. Sea conditions will be light to moderate, with waves ranging from one to three feet. During the evening, conditions will ease to hot to moderate, with light to moderate southwesterly winds ranging from 6 to 30 km/h. The minimum temperature is expected to range between 22 and 24 degrees Celsius, with sea conditions remaining light to moderate.

On Friday, the heat is set to intensify, with maximum temperatures forecast between 43 and 45 degrees Celsius. Winds will shift from southwesterly to southeasterly at speeds of 10 to 42 km/h, sometimes becoming active and raising dust. Cloud cover is also expected to increase. Sea conditions will range from light to moderate, with wave heights between two and five feet. Friday night will remain hot to moderate with partly to fully cloudy skies. Winds will be southeasterly to variable, ranging from 10 to 35 km/h, with a chance of suspended dust. Minimum temperatures will fall between 23 and 25 degrees Celsius, and sea waves will range from one to four feet.

Al-Ali added that Saturday will continue to be hot and partly to mostly cloudy, with winds shifting from northeasterly to southeasterly at speeds of 12 to 40 km/h. Daytime temperatures are expected to hover between 41 and 43 degrees Celsius. Sea conditions will remain light to moderate, with waves between two and five feet. Saturday night will see hot to moderate temperatures and partly cloudy skies, with southeasterly to variable winds at speeds of 8 to 32 km/h. Minimum temperatures are expected to be between 21 and 23 degrees Celsius, with sea waves between one and four feet. — KUNA

They also visited the ancient Moorish castle, and they were able to build connections with same-interest individuals and experts in the field, in addition to achieving a deeper understanding of the relationship between nature and society.

This sponsorship comes as an emphasis of NBK’s leadership in social responsibility and its commitment to investing in future generations, as it firmly believes in the effectiveness of such initiatives that contribute to shaping deeper understandings of global environmental issues, which consequently builds a generation that is strongly aware and capable of facing future sustainability-related challenges.

KRCS chief receives EQUATE delegation, praises partnership

KUWAIT: Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) Chairman Khaled Al-Mughamis affirmed that “our strategic partnerships with donors contribute to developing health services, which helps the “Society enhance its relief efforts in countries facing crises and disasters. This came in a statement to KUNA after receiving on Wednesday a delegation from EQUATE Petrochemical Company, headed by Public Relations and Communications Manager Abdulrahman Al-Munais, who presented him with a donation from the company, consisting of a fully-equipped ambulance.

Al-Mughamis praised the KRCS’s strategic partnership with EQUATE Petrochemical Company, stating that it aims to achieve integration in the humanitarian and social efforts of both sides. He commended the company’s donation of the new ambulance, considering that fruitful strategic partnerships have an effective and direct impact on developing the health services provided by the society in disaster-stricken countries.

Al-Munais expressed in a similar statement to KUNA his pride in the company’s contribution to supporting the association, as it donated an ambulance equipped with all technical specifications in support of the great and distinguished relief role carried out by the Red Crescent, as it is one of the established institutions with noble humanitarian missions. — KUNA
