KUWAIT CITY, May 4: A criminal court has sentenced an expatriate, employed as a ticket sales officer for a prestigious airline, to seven years in prison with hard labor. In addition, the court imposed a fine of 56,000 dinars and dismissed him from his position. The ruling follows his conviction for embezzling 18,000 dinars in ticket date change fees over a five-year period.

The Public Prosecution charged the defendant with embezzlement, accusing him of illegally altering travel ticket dates and pocketing the fees without entering them into the company’s financial system.

Although the defendant denied all charges, the court relied on the evidence and documents presented during the trial to convict him. As a result, he was sentenced to prison, fined, and terminated from his employment.
