One-Way Ticket: Kuwait Deports 329 Expats in a Single Day

KUWAIT CITY, May 6: A security source revealed that the Ministry of Interior deported 329 expatriates on Sunday. According to the source, several of those deported had been transferred to the Deportation Center by Public Security authorities for violating residency laws, while others were referred by the General Department for Combating Drugs due to possession of drugs or alcohol. The group included 173 female and 156 male expatriates of various nationalities.

The source further explained that the deportees’ sponsors are initially contacted to provide flight tickets. If the sponsors fail to do so, the Ministry proceeds with deportation and later holds the sponsors accountable by blocking their applications until the cost of the tickets is reimbursed.

She falsely claimed to offer residential apartments in the UK for Kuwaiti students, convincing parents that she owned properties near British universities. In exchange for reserving these non-existent units, she collected large sums of money. Investigations revealed that she operated the fraudulent scheme in partnership with an Egyptian accomplice who fled the country once the scam was uncovered. Despite the exposure, she continued her fraudulent activities until her arrest. She was later charged with fraud and money laundering. The Court of Cassation upheld the lower court’s ruling, confirming her guilt and making the verdict final.
