One-Way Ticket: Kuwait Deports 329 Expats in a Single Day

KUWAIT CITY, May 6: A security source revealed that the Ministry of Interior deported 329 expatriates on Sunday. According to the source, several of those deported had been transferred to the Deportation Center by Public Security authorities for violating residency laws, while others were referred by the General Department for Combating Drugs due to possession of drugs or alcohol. The group included 173 female and 156 male expatriates of various nationalities.

The source further explained that the deportees’ sponsors are initially contacted to provide flight tickets. If the sponsors fail to do so, the Ministry proceeds with deportation and later holds the sponsors accountable by blocking their applications until the cost of the tickets is reimbursed.

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 16: Firefighting teams from Al-Abdali, Al-Subiya, Al-Soor, and support centers successfully brought a fire under control on Monday evening after it broke out at several commercial shops and a warehouse in the Al-Abdali area.

Firefighting units promptly responded to the scene and initiated immediate firefighting operations, successfully containing the blaze before it spread further.

Authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

Expats Caught Fleeing With Stolen Transformer Cables In Khaitan

KUWAIT CITY, Sep 16: Khaitan detectives have launched intensive investigations into two expatriates suspected of involvement in a series of state property thefts. Authorities are working to determine the scope of the thefts, the number of incidents committed, and how the stolen materials were disposed of.

According to a security source, during a routine patrol in Khaitan the day before yesterday, detectives spotted two men emerging from an electrical transformer. When officers ordered them to stop, the suspects abandoned a bag and attempted to flee on foot. They were swiftly pursued and arrested.

Upon inspecting the bag left behind near the transformer, police discovered a quantity of stolen electrical cables along with cutting tools. During interrogation, the suspects admitted to stealing the cables from the transformer shortly before being caught.

The source confirmed that investigations are ongoing, and the two men will be referred to the Public Prosecution once inquiries are completed.

Kuwait Authorities Crack Down On Shop And Advertising Violations In Jahra

KUWAIT CITY, Sep 15: During a recent field campaign, Kuwait Municipality’s inspection teams in Jahra Governorate took regulatory action against several businesses, closing two shops, issuing 40 advertising violations, and handing out 28 warnings.

According to the Public Relations Department, the Audit and Follow-up Department of the Municipality’s Services in Jahra carried out the inspections to review health licenses for shops and advertising permits, ensure compliance with regulations, and take corrective action against violators.

The department confirmed that this was the third field campaign conducted in Jahra Governorate by the specialized inspection team. The team carried out thorough inspections across multiple areas, focusing on locations where violations had been observed, and implemented necessary measures to enforce the law.

Authorities added that the campaign is part of a broader plan, with future inspections scheduled across all governorates. The Public Relations Department, in coordination with relevant departments, has prepared a timetable for upcoming campaigns to ensure regulatory compliance throughout Kuwait in the coming weeks.
