KUWAIT CITY, Oct 14: In a coordinated operation between the Ministry of Interior and the Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR), security authorities successfully dismantled two illegal liquor production factories operating inside rented farms in the Al-Abdali area.

The operation came as part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to combat illegal activities and apprehend violators across the country.

According to security sources, the case began when a PAAAFR inspector conducting routine checks in the Al-Abdali farms became suspicious of one particular site after observing signs of illicit activity. When the inspector attempted to carry out an inspection, a worker at the farm tried to escape but was quickly apprehended and taken to the Al-Qash’aniya Police Station.

A joint security team from the Security Directorates Sector and Al-Qash’aniya Police Station, accompanied by the PAAAFR inspector, then proceeded to the location, where they discovered a room fully equipped for liquor manufacturing. The site contained several plastic bottles filled with locally produced alcoholic substances, fermentation equipment, and bottling tools.

Investigations revealed that the farm had been rented to an expat without an official lease agreement and that part of the premises had been converted into a local liquor factory.

Through intensified investigative efforts, detectives from Al-Qash’aniya were able to identify and arrest the main suspect in the Al-Sabahiya area. The suspect confessed to renting part of the farm and using it for liquor production. He also disclosed information about another similar factory in Al-Abdali.

Based on his confession, security teams and PAAAFR inspectors moved to the second location, where they uncovered additional manufacturing tools, barrels of alcoholic substances, and several workers involved in the operation. All suspects, including the main tenant, were arrested and referred to the competent authorities for legal proceedings.

The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its commitment to continuing intensive joint campaigns in cooperation with various government bodies across agricultural and industrial zones, to curb illegal activities and preserve public safety and security.
