Firefighters battle 2 house fires in Sabah Al-Salem within 24 hours

KUWAIT CITY, May 11: Firefighting teams from the Al-Qurain and Mishref centers successfully controlled two separate house fires in the Sabah Al-Salem suburb over the weekend, with no significant injuries reported in either incident.

Today, Sunday morning, firefighters responded to a house fire in Sabah Al-Salem, where they successfully rescued eight individuals from the premises. The teams quickly brought the blaze under control, and no major injuries were reported.

The day before, on Saturday evening, the same firefighting teams were dispatched to another residential fire in the same area. The crews acted swiftly to contain the fire, which also resulted in no significant injuries.

She falsely claimed to offer residential apartments in the UK for Kuwaiti students, convincing parents that she owned properties near British universities. In exchange for reserving these non-existent units, she collected large sums of money. Investigations revealed that she operated the fraudulent scheme in partnership with an Egyptian accomplice who fled the country once the scam was uncovered. Despite the exposure, she continued her fraudulent activities until her arrest. She was later charged with fraud and money laundering. The Court of Cassation upheld the lower court’s ruling, confirming her guilt and making the verdict final.
