Kuwait Authorities Arrest Bedoun with Large Lyrica Haul and Hashish Oil

KUWAIT CITY, May 12: As part of its ongoing security strategy to combat drug-related crimes and enhance public safety, the Criminal Security Sector—through operations conducted by the General Department for Combating Drugs—has successfully apprehended an illegal resident found in possession of large quantities of narcotics and psychotropic substances.

During the raid, authorities seized approximately 115,000 capsules of the narcotic drug Lyrica, 5 kilograms of Lyrica powder, and 24 liters of hashish oil. Additionally, various devices and tools used in the manufacturing and preparation of drugs were recovered, along with a quantity of live ammunition found in the suspect’s possession.

The suspect and all confiscated items have been referred to the Drugs and Alcohol Prosecution Office for legal proceedings.

The General Department of Narcotics Control reaffirmed its commitment to continuing intensive operations aimed at apprehending individuals involved in drug trafficking and distribution, to safeguard society and protect citizens from the dangers of narcotics.

Ten Arrested in Kuwait, Large Quantities of Narcotics Seized in Security Raid

KUWAIT CITY, June 2: The Ministry of Interior announced on Monday the detention of ten persons on charges of dealing with narcotics and psychotropic drugs in a chain of well-planned raids. The MoI security information department said in a statement that the suspects were apprehended during security operations in Al-Gurain, Wafra, Andalos, Saad Al-Abdullah City, Khairan, and Sabah Al-Salem districts. The engaged personnel found and confiscated six kilograms of shabu (methamphetamine) materials, three kilograms of hashish, 7000 Lyrica capsules, guns of various calibers, ammunition, and suspicious funds. It has affirmed the determination to pursue the security campaigns against “dealers in these contaminating substances,” warning that the security forces will act firmly against such dangerous activities. It called on the citizens and residents to cooperate with the security personnel and report any suspicious activities for the sake of safeguarding society

Ethiopian Duo Nabbed For Stealing KD 1,700 From Car In Kuwait

KUWAIT CITY, June 2: As part of ongoing security efforts by the General Department of Criminal Investigation to track down offenders and combat crime, officers from the Al-Nugra Investigation Office, under the Hawalli Governorate Investigation Department, have arrested a two-member gang of Ethiopian nationals involved in vehicle theft through deception.

The case began after a resident reported the theft of 1,700 Kuwaiti dinars from his car shortly after leaving a bank in the Al-Nugra area. According to the report, one suspect distracted the victim by pretending there was an issue with the car’s rear tire, prompting him to step out. Meanwhile, the second suspect stole the cash from the vehicle and fled the scene.

Through intensive investigation and route tracking, authorities discovered that the suspects had arrived in the area via a public bus from Fahaheel. After identifying their residence and obtaining the necessary legal authorization, police apprehended both suspects. A portion of the stolen money was recovered during the arrest. The suspects confessed to having spent the rest. Legal procedures are ongoing, and the individuals are being referred to the appropriate authorities for further action.

Negligence in Amiri Aircraft Deal: Jail Time Suspended for 3 Diwan advisors

KUWAIT CITY, June 2: The Misdemeanor Section in the Appeals Court suspended the prison sentence imposed on three former Amiri Diwan advisors accused of causing significant damage (estimated at $180 million of public funds) by withholding information from Kuwait Airways regarding a contract to equip an Amiri aircraft with an American company. The Misdemeanor Court had earlier sentenced them to three years in prison, fined them KD10,000 and dismissed them from their jobs on charges of negligence of their duties, breach of their duties, and abuse of power in and outside the country. Case files indicate they neglected and failed to fulfill their duties in supervising the implementation of a contract to equip, furnish and receive an Amiri aircraft and caused significant damage to public funds amounting to $180 million by withholding information from Kuwait Airways regarding the contract to equip the Amiri aircraft with an American company.
