Maintenance worker dies after falling down elevator shaft in Khaitan

KUWAIT CITY, July 20: Firefighting teams responded to a fatal accident on Saturday evening involving the fall of a maintenance worker inside an elevator shaft in the Khaitan area.

According to a statement from the Kuwait Fire Force, teams from the Farwaniya Fire Station and the Search and Rescue Department were dispatched to the scene immediately after the incident was reported.

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered that a worker had fallen into the elevator shaft of a residential building. 

The site was secured and later handed over to the competent authorities for further investigation.

KUWAIT CITY, July 20: The Court of Cassation Sunday rejected the appeal filed by former MP Majed Al-Mutairi and upheld the Court of Appeals’ ruling, which sentenced him to two years in prison with hard labor. Al-Mutairi was convicted in a vote-buying case during the previous parliamentary elections. The Criminal Court had sentenced him to prison after he was found guilty of paying money to several voters to secure votes in his favor. The ruling stated that the defendant’s actions constituted a serious electoral crime, aimed at unlawfully influencing voters’ free will, warranting a deterrent punishment to protect the public interest and preserve the integrity of the elections

Blaze Erupts in Amghara; Three Rescued from Sinking Boat in Kuwait

KUWAIT CITY, July 18: The General Fire Force announced that seven firefighting teams have been deployed to tackle a large blaze that broke out this afternoon at a timber warehouse within the Amghara Scrap Yard. Firefighters are working diligently to control the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to nearby areas.

In addition to firefighting units, security forces and emergency medical teams also responded to the scene to support the ongoing operation.

Earlier in the day, the Shuwaikh Fire and Marine Rescue Center intervened in a separate incident involving a boat that sank near Shuwaikh Port. Rescue teams successfully saved all three individuals on board.
