KUWAIT CITY, Sep 10: The General Traffic Department of the Ministry of Interior has intensified its campaign to curb traffic violations and dangerous driving behaviors, as part of its ongoing strategy to enforce road discipline, reduce accidents, and safeguard road users. The campaign, which ran from August 30 to September 5, 2025, yielded significant results across the country.

According to official data, traffic patrols and field units recorded a total of 31,395 violations. These included speeding, failure to stay within traffic lanes, mobile phone use while driving, and other infractions that endanger public safety. Authorities also impounded 29 vehicles and motorcycles that failed to meet traffic requirements and regulations.

The campaign further targeted individuals violating residency and security laws. Police arrested 126 expatriates with expired residency permits, 36 individuals without identification documents, and 66 wanted persons involved in cases ranging from absconding to civil, criminal, and outstanding arrest warrants. Additionally, 66 wanted vehicles were seized, while three individuals were referred to the General Department for Drug Control on suspicion of drug-related activities.

In terms of traffic incidents, the department reported handling 2,042 cases, including 180 major collisions and 999 minor accidents, alongside other related reports.

A security source stressed that such field campaigns will continue with increasing intensity to address violations promptly and decisively. “Any unlawful traffic behavior will be met with immediate and firm measures, without leniency, to preserve lives, protect property, and ensure discipline on all roads,” the source said.

KUWAIT CITY, Sep 10: Authorities in Kuwait have uncovered yet another illegal liquor factory, this time in the Mangaf area, as part of an ongoing crackdown on illicit alcohol production. According to security sources, the operation was carried out by officers from the Investigation Department of Hawally Governorate, under the Salmiya Investigations Unit. Acting on a tip-off, investigators received credible information about a basement in Mangaf that was allegedly being used as a manufacturing site for local liquor.

Following a period of discreet surveillance and verification, detectives confirmed the presence of illegal activity at the location. A raid was then launched, leading to the discovery of equipment and raw materials used in brewing liquor. Three expatriates, who were found operating the facility, were arrested on the spot. Authorities noted that the raid comes within the framework of the Criminal Security Sector’s intensified campaign against liquor manufacturing dens across the country. These makeshift factories, often run in hidden basements or remote areas, pose serious health risks and have been linked to multiple deaths in recent years due to the consumption of unsafe, locally brewed alcohol.

The three suspects have been referred to the relevant authorities for legal action, while the confiscated equipment and materials were seized as evidence. Security officials stressed that campaigns of this nature will continue, with heightened efforts to eliminate illegal liquor operations that endanger public health and safety.

KUWAIT CITY, Sep 10: The General Fire Force launched an inspection campaign on Wednesday evening at Mubarakiya Market to identify shops and buildings violating safety and fire prevention regulations. The operation led to the closure of 20 establishments and shops, while 31 others received notices and warnings for failing to comply with the safety standards set by the General Fire Force.
