4 Bedoun Drug Traffickers Arrested with Narcotics and Cash

KUWAIT CITY, May 18: As part of its ongoing efforts to combat the trafficking and promotion of narcotic and psychotropic substances, Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior, through the Criminal Security Sector and the General Department for Combating Narcotics, has arrested four  Bedouns (stateless). The suspects — Muhammad Duaij Shabl Al-Enezi, Ahmed Hussein Qate’ Jabr, Suleiman Muhammad Salal, and Saad Abdul Rahman Salal — were found in possession of a significant quantity of illegal substances during the operation.

Seized items included:

  • 15,000 capsules of Lyrica
  • 100 grams of cocaine
  • 500 grams of chemical substances
  • 250 grams of hashish
  • 80 psychotropic pills
  • A electronic scale used for weighing drugs
  • KD 10,590 in cash, suspected to be proceeds from drug trafficking

All necessary legal procedures have been initiated, and the suspects have been referred to the relevant authorities.

The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying its security campaigns, pledging to take firm action against anyone involved in the import, distribution, or promotion of drugs to safeguard public safety and societal well-being.

Kuwait Intensifies Inspections of Charitable Committees in Residential Areas

KUWAIT CITY, May 18: The Public Relations Department announced that the supervisory team from the Engineering Audit and Follow-up Department in Jahra Governorate conducted its third field inspection campaign. The initiative aims to intensify field visits and ensure that charitable committee operators in residential areas comply with removal regulations. During the campaign, four violations were recorded, and eight removal warnings were issued. As a result of cooperation from committee owners, seven charitable committees operating in private residences were successfully evacuated. The department emphasized that inspection teams will strictly enforce municipal regulations and take all necessary legal actions. The campaign remains ongoing, with continued compliance observed following the issuance of warnings.

Kuwait Police Ramp Up Traffic Enforcement: Reckless Drivers, Residency Violators Caught

KUWAIT CITY, May 18 : In a robust enforcement campaign, the General Department of Emergency Police and Traffic officers recorded 15,475 traffic violations between May 5 and May 16, 2025, including 33 cases of illegal parking in spaces reserved for people with disabilities.

During this 13-day period, 12,449 violations were issued by the General Traffic Department. Authorities also referred 53 juveniles to the Juvenile Prosecution and placed 47 reckless drivers in precautionary detention. In addition, 32 vehicles and 3 motorcycles were impounded for serious offenses. Officers apprehended 4 individuals under the influence, 26 residency violators, and 18 individuals without valid identification.

Law enforcement also arrested 43 wanted persons, a street vendor, and seized 101 vehicles listed as wanted. The Operations Department handled 2,956 traffic reports, including 175 injury-related collisions and 1,354 minor accidents.

Separately, the General Department of Emergency Police, between May 11 and May 17, reported further results from its intensified patrols. These included the referral of 42 individuals to the General Department for Combating Narcotics, 1,927 security operations were carried out, the arrest of 147 wanted persons, and the detention of 8 individuals with outstanding criminal sentences. Authorities also recorded 87 identity violations, 104 cases of absence, and arrested 2 theft suspects. Additionally, 149 individuals with expired residency permits were referred for legal action, 9 altercations were resolved, and 36 judiciary-wanted vehicles were handed over to relevant authorities. Emergency units also assisted 674 individuals during this period.

The campaign also resulted in 3,026 traffic citations, with 33 for unauthorized use of disability-designated parking, and 141 traffic accidents were documented.

Authorities emphasized that such intensified operations are part of ongoing efforts to uphold public safety and enforce the law across Kuwait’s roadways and communities.

Two Expat Employees Arrested for Stealing 2kg of Gold in Jahra

KUWAIT CITY, May 18 : Acting on orders from the Jahra Police Station investigator, authorities have arrested two expatriates and placed them under a travel ban for allegedly stealing two kilograms of pure gold, valued at over KD 60,000, from a jewelry shop in Jahra.

According to a security source, the individual who filed the complaint will also be questioned following the arrests, as part of the ongoing investigation into the case.

The incident, registered as a misdemeanor, was brought to light by an expatriate serving as the company’s manager. He reported that approximately one kilogram of gold was found missing and accused two fellow expatriate employees of theft. The manager claimed the thefts occurred on April 9 at 9:00 a.m. and April 15 at 11:00 a.m.

It remains unclear whether surveillance footage was provided to substantiate the allegations, despite the specific dates and times mentioned in the report. The complainant also did not clarify why the company delayed reporting the theft to authorities.
