Kuwait Cracks Down on Cyber Offenses Threatening Public Morality

KUWAIT CITY, May 23: The Ministry of Interior, through its Cybercrime Department, has reported monitoring 118 cybercrimes in recent weeks. These violations include offenses against public morals, incitement to debauchery and immorality, defamation, and calls to breach laws and public order.

All cases have been referred to the relevant authorities for legal action as part of the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to safeguarding society, security, and moral values.

The Ministry stressed the importance of complying with laws governing cyberspace and confirmed its continued surveillance of digital platforms to help maintain a safe and secure online environment.

Asian man jumps to his death from building top

KUWAIT CITY, June 15: An Asian man committed suicide by jumping from the top of a building in Ahmadi Governorate. His body was referred to the Forensic Medicine Department in the Interior Ministry. According to a security source, the Operations Unit at the ministry received information about an Asian who jumped from a building in Ahmadi Governorate. Police officers and an ambulance rushed to the location, where they discovered that the Asian man already succumbed to his injuries. A case was registered and investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances that prompted the Asian to end his own life.

Stolen Vehicle Found in Hawally; KD 1,200 Spent on Drugs

KUWAIT CITY, June 14: The General Traffic Department in Hawally successfully closed a vehicle theft case after arresting the suspect and recovering the stolen car. The incident began on May 2, when a Kuwaiti citizen, born in 1970, reported that his 2018 bronze color saloon vehicle had been stolen from the Maidan Hawally area. He also mentioned the car contained KD 1,200 but did not initially accuse anyone.

The case was handed over to the Investigations Department, which circulated details of the vehicle. A traffic patrol later located the stolen car with the suspect inside. Upon arrest, the individual confessed to stealing the vehicle and admitted that he had spent the KD 1,200 on drug use. Further investigation revealed that the accused had a criminal history related to both theft and drug-related offenses.

The case file, along with the suspect’s confession and background, has been referred to the Public Prosecution for further legal proceedings.

Two Drug-Related Arrests Made in Ardiya Industrial Area and Salmiya

KUWAIT CITY, Jun 14: Last night, the Farwaniya Security Directorate’s backup patrols referred an expatriate to the General Department for Drug Control after apprehending him driving under the influence of drugs and in possession of narcotics in the Ardiya Industrial Area.

According to a source, while manning a checkpoint at the entrance of the Ardiya Industrial Area, the Farwaniya patrol noticed a car driven by an expatriate who appeared visibly scared and confused. When officers asked him to exit the vehicle, it quickly became apparent that he was under the influence of drugs. A precautionary search uncovered narcotics and a hashish cigarette on his person. The individual and the seized items were subsequently handed over to the General Department for Drug Control for further investigation and legal action.

In a separate incident, the Hawally Security Directorate’s backup patrols arrested a young man in his thirties for similar offenses. During a security patrol in the Salmiya area, officers stopped a suspicious vehicle. The driver showed signs of being under the influence of drugs. Upon questioning, it was confirmed that the driver was a man in his thirties. A search of the vehicle and the man revealed narcotics and drug paraphernalia in his possession. He was then referred, along with the seized evidence, to the General Department for Drug Control.

Both cases highlight the ongoing efforts by Kuwait’s security forces to combat drug-related offenses and ensure public safety in various regions of the country.
