KUWAIT CITY, June 14: The General Traffic Department in Hawally successfully closed a vehicle theft case after arresting the suspect and recovering the stolen car. The incident began on May 2, when a Kuwaiti citizen, born in 1970, reported that his 2018 bronze color saloon vehicle had been stolen from the Maidan Hawally area. He also mentioned the car contained KD 1,200 but did not initially accuse anyone.

The case was handed over to the Investigations Department, which circulated details of the vehicle. A traffic patrol later located the stolen car with the suspect inside. Upon arrest, the individual confessed to stealing the vehicle and admitted that he had spent the KD 1,200 on drug use. Further investigation revealed that the accused had a criminal history related to both theft and drug-related offenses.

The case file, along with the suspect’s confession and background, has been referred to the Public Prosecution for further legal proceedings.

KUWAIT CITY, June 14: In line with the directives of His Excellency the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, the Ministry of Interior conducted a large-scale security and traffic operation in the Khaitan area at dawn on Thursday.

The campaign, spearheaded by the Traffic and Operations Affairs Sector in coordination with the Public Security Affairs Sector, aimed to apprehend violators, enforce the law, and strengthen road safety measures. The operation saw a broad deployment of security and traffic patrols throughout the district, accompanied by thorough inspection and regulatory procedures.

KUWAIT CITY, June 11: In a significant blow to drug trafficking operations, Kuwait’s Criminal Security Sector, through the General Department for Drug Control, has seized approximately 200 kilograms of shabu (methamphetamine) in the Riggae area. The narcotics, valued at over 1.5 million Kuwaiti dinars, were found in the possession of an Iranian national who allegedly intended to distribute them across the country.

This major operation was carried out in line with directives from His Excellency the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahd Yousef Saud Al-Sabah. The initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to combat drug-related crimes, dismantle trafficking networks, and safeguard public health and security.

The operation was launched after anti-narcotics authorities received precise intelligence indicating the suspect’s involvement in drug distribution. Following legal procedures, the suspect was apprehended in Al-Raqi, where a large cache of narcotics was recovered.

Further investigations revealed that the accused had rented two vehicles—one for delivering narcotics to various locations and another, parked in a dirt lot in the Al-Raqqa area, used as a mobile storage unit. Authorities also discovered that the suspect was acting on instructions received from contacts outside the country.

The suspect and the confiscated drugs have been referred to the competent authorities for further legal action.

The General Department for Drug Control, under the continued supervision of Sheikh Fahd Al-Sabah, reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying efforts against drug trafficking.
