KUWAIT: Kuwait and Azerbaijan signed a cooperation agreement in agriculture, along with several executive programs in sports, culture, and tourism, during a meeting held Wednesday. Speaking at the third session of the Joint Cooperation Committee between the two countries, Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya affirmed Kuwait’s strong appreciation for its close ties with Azerbaijan since 1994 across political, economic, and social fields. He stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation at all levels amid ongoing global developments.
Al-Yahya expressed hope that the session would help identify priority areas for bilateral cooperation and ways to unify efforts toward shared goals. He praised the strong coordination between the two countries, particularly in multilateral forums, describing the relationship as rooted in common values and aspirations.
Highlighting Kuwait’s commitment to enhancing bilateral ties, Al-Yahya commended the efforts of officials from both sides, especially following the first round of political consultations held in Kuwait in February 2025. The meeting concluded with the signing of the session’s final report, outlining a roadmap for future cooperation. The next session of the Joint Cooperation Committee is scheduled to be held in Azerbaijan in 2027. — KUNA
