KUWAIT CITY, July 13: Teams from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry conducted a targeted inspection campaign across several mobile phone accessory stores, resulting in the seizure of approximately 1,625 counterfeit electronic items. The operation is part of the ministry’s ongoing efforts to combat commercial fraud and safeguard consumer rights.
According to official sources, the confiscated products included earphones, charging cables, and other accessories bearing fake logos and trademarks of well-known international brands, constituting a direct violation of intellectual property protection laws. Offense reports were filed against the violating establishments, and appropriate legal actions were initiated, with preparations underway to refer the cases to the relevant authorities.
Officials emphasized that the inspection teams remain committed to confronting all forms of commercial malpractice, particularly those that endanger consumer safety or compromise the integrity of authentic brands.
The ministry reiterated its commitment to continuing intensive inspection campaigns across markets and shopping centers throughout the country, ensuring that all commercial outlets comply with consumer protection laws and intellectual property regulations.
