KUWAIT CITY, July 17: The Criminal Court (Domestic Violence) acquitted a Kuwaiti woman of abusing her two children. The court based its decision on the pleadings of the defense lawyer, Attorney Abdul Mohsen Al-Qattan, who pointed out the lack of incriminating evidence. Case files indicate that the ex-husband of the accused claimed she beat their two sons and caused them injuries.
After examining the medical and psychological reports and the testimonies of the alleged victims, the court established the absence of conclusive evidence to support the accusation. Although the report of the Child Protection Office stated that the mother used ‘disciplinary beating’ as a parenting method, the same report confirmed the existence of positive feelings between the children and their mother.
