Lebanese Man Confesses To Running Over Belarusian Woman In Salmiya

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 2: A Lebanese man is now detained at Salmiya Police Station, where he confessed to running over a Belarusian woman on Qatar Street. The suspect fled the scene after the accident, but turned himself in at the police station later, claiming he acted reflexively in the aftermath of the incident. The Operations Unit at the Ministry of Interior received a report regarding the hit-and-run involving an expatriate woman. Shortly afterward, the suspect arrived at the station and admitted to his involvement. The victim’s body was referred to forensic authorities, confirming that she was a Belarusian national. A case of hit-and-run resulting in death was filed against the man.

In another incident, a 22-year-old male citizen died while his companion was injured when their four-wheel-drive vehicle overturned in Abdally Agricultural Area recently. According to a security source, authorities received a report of a vehicle rollover in the area. Emergency personnel rushed to the scene and found two citizens in the vehicle. One was declared dead on the spot and the other sustained injuries. A case of vehicle overturn resulting in one fatality was registered.

Wanted Man & Visa Violators Busted in Ahmadi Raid

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 3:  A major security crackdown across Kuwait’s Ahmadi Governorate has led to the arrest of 18 individuals on a range of charges, including expired visas, residency violations, and labor law offences. One suspect wanted in connection with a criminal case was also apprehended and is set to serve a four-year prison sentence.

The coordinated campaign, described by authorities as “qualitative,” was launched by the Ahmadi Security Directorate in cooperation with Kuwait Municipality. It was carried out under the direct supervision of Major General Hamad Al-Munifi, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security Affairs, and Brigadier General Hussein Dashti, Director General of the Ahmadi Security Directorate.

Among those arrested were six individuals violating labor laws, four with expired residency permits, five reported absent from their employers, and three overstaying their visit visas. Additionally, 12 people were detained for failing to produce valid identification.

Security forces also seized a vehicle involved in a breach of trust case and a motorcycle. Eight mobile caravans and 11 abandoned vehicles were removed from the streets, while officers issued 200 traffic citations during the operation, which deployed 10 separate security units across the region.

Authorities stressed that security campaigns will continue in Ahmadi to clamp down on lawbreakers, reckless drivers, and anyone found violating residency or traffic regulations.

Kuwait Cops Nab Two Indians with Suitcases Full of Heroin and Meth

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 3: In a major victory in the fight against drug trafficking, Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior has dealt a significant blow to an international narcotics network operating from outside the country, seizing a large cache of illegal drugs destined for the local market.

The operation, spearheaded by the Criminal Security Sector under the supervision of His Excellency Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef Al-Sabah, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, culminated in the arrest of two Indian nationals (Nadathara Kunjimaraka Kabir and Saik Hussein Muhammad) in the residential areas of Shuwaikh and Kaifan.

Authorities uncovered a staggering 14 kilograms of pure heroin, 8 kilograms of crystal meth (commonly known as shabu), and two electronic scales believed to have been used for drug distribution. The suspects have been handed over to the competent legal authorities for further action.

The Ministry hailed the operation as a “qualitative security blow” to international traffickers and reaffirmed its commitment to relentlessly pursue drug dealers and smugglers. It emphasized that security campaigns will continue unabated to protect the community from the ravages of drug abuse.

Kuwaiti Fashion Influencer Jailed In Bahrain For Posting Indecent Videos

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 2: A Kuwaiti fashion influencer (ZA)has been sentenced to one year in prison and fined BD200 after being found guilty of sharing indecent videos on social media, according to a statement from the Public Prosecution.

The Minor Criminal Court delivered its verdict in person, ordering the confiscation of the influencer’s mobile phones and ruling that she be permanently deported upon completion of her sentence.

The case surfaced after the Cybercrime Directorate at the Ministry of Interior filed a report highlighting a publicly accessible social media account that featured videos of the woman in suggestive and inappropriate poses. Prosecutors argued that the content violated public decency laws and clashed with Kuwait’s cultural norms.

A warrant was issued for her arrest, and investigators later detained her. During questioning, the woman admitted the footage was hers. Her phone was confiscated as evidence, and she remained in custody throughout the investigation until the court delivered its final ruling.
