KUWAIT CITY, Sep 17: Acting on the directives of the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, the General Administration of Customs announced that its inspectors successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of marijuana into the country.
The drugs (Marijuana), weighing nearly 60 kilograms, were discovered concealed inside animal feed bags on board a vessel operated by a local company. Following a thorough inspection, no other contraband was found on the ship.
Authorities immediately seized the vessel and initiated the necessary legal procedures in connection with the case. The confiscated narcotics were handed over to the competent authorities for further action.
The General Administration of Customs affirmed its commitment to intensifying efforts, in line with the directives of senior leadership, to counter smuggling attempts and safeguard the nation’s security and stability.
