KUWAIT: Director General of the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET) Dr Hassan Al-Fajjam announced on Tuesday the adoption of a new organizational structure for the authority, in line with Kuwait Vision 2035 and the authority’s 2025–2030 strategic plan aimed at raising performance efficiency and directing resources toward national priorities.

In a press statement, Al-Fajjam said the new structure establishes a Director General with the rank of Undersecretary, supported by two deputies instead of the previous five. The two Deputy Directors General will be responsible for Academic Affairs, Development and Innovation, and Institutional Support and Services. The streamlined structure, he explained, is designed to enhance integration, clarify lines of communication, reduce administrative overlap, and improve overall effectiveness.

The authority also created four general departments reporting to the deputies: Human Development, Academic Support, Institutional Support, and Services and Development. Each department supervises a group of specialized divisions to strengthen governance, improve specialization and consolidate performance. Six departments fall under human development, six under academic support, five under institutional support, and seven under services and development. Al-Fajjam said several departments were merged while new units were established to advance digital transformation, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.

These include the Strategic Planning and Corporate Intelligence Department, the Assistant Director General for Digital Transformation and Governance, and the Cybersecurity and Information Unit. He added that the Skills, Talent and Creativity Center and the Talent Care Department were introduced to identify and nurture promising skills, foster innovation and promote institutional excellence. Meanwhile, the Engineering Construction Department was created as an independent entity to oversee the design and implementation of educational and training facilities using modern technologies.

The Quality Department was renamed the Academic Accreditation and Education Quality Assurance Department to focus on programmatic accreditation and elevate PAAET’s international standing. An Assistant Dean for E-Learning and Education Technology Affairs was also appointed within the Deanship of Information Resources and Technology to keep pace with global advances in digital education.

Al-Fajjam further announced the creation of the Auctions and Investment Department under the Supplies Department to enhance services, maximize the use of authority facilities, and increase revenues. He stressed that PAAET remains committed to institutional modernization in line with government visions, adding that the new structure is designed to improve education and training outcomes, strengthen the preparation of national cadres, and build a flexible, market-responsive environment that meets the demands of Kuwait’s next phase of transformation. — KUNA
