Over 500 Traffic Violations Recorded During Capital Security Sweep in Kuwait

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 18: The Ministry of Interior’s traffic department carried out a comprehensive field security and traffic campaign on Thursday across several areas of the Capital Governorate. The operation, executed through mobile patrols, comes as part of the Ministry of Interior’s ongoing efforts to strengthen security presence, enhance traffic discipline, and apprehend violators — all without relying on fixed checkpoints.

According to the department’s report, the campaign achieved significant results:

  • 519 various traffic violations were recorded.
  • 2 wanted individuals were arrested.
  • 2 absconding cases were detected.
  • 2 suspects were apprehended in connection with drug-related offenses.
  • 3 violators of the Residence and Labor Law were arrested.
  • 8 wanted vehicles were seized.
  • 21 vehicles were impounded for violating traffic regulations.
  • One individual was referred to the traffic police station for further legal action.

The General Department of Rescue Police emphasized that such mobile patrol campaigns will continue around the clock across all governorates. The initiative reflects the Ministry of Interior’s commitment (through the Traffic Affairs and Operations Sector ) to uphold the rule of law, ensure road safety, and protect all road users.
