KUWAIT CITY, Oct 19: As part of its ongoing campaign to maintain public safety and combat all forms of criminal activity, the Ministry of Interior (MOI), through its Criminal Security Sector, has arrested two Kuwaiti citizens employed by the Ministry of Defense for their involvement in a violent robbery in Hawalli Governorate.
According to the MOI, the Operations Room received a report from an Asian expat who stated that two unidentified men attacked and robbed him. One of the suspects physically assaulted the victim while the other seized his belongings before fleeing the scene.
Immediately after receiving the report, the Hawalli Governorate Investigations Department, represented by the Salmiya Investigations Office, initiated an extensive investigation. Officers visited the crime scene, reviewed surveillance footage, and collected critical evidence, which eventually led to the identification of the perpetrators—both confirmed to be Ministry of Defense employees.
Through the use of advanced technical methods, investigators tracked down and arrested one of the suspects. Upon questioning, he confessed to committing the crime in collaboration with his accomplice. The second suspect was later lured into a controlled operation and subsequently arrested. During their arrest, officers found suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia in their possession.
The necessary legal procedures have been initiated, and both suspects, along with the seized materials, have been referred to the competent authorities for further action.
The Ministry of Interior reiterated its firm commitment to safeguarding national security and public safety, emphasizing that it will not tolerate or show leniency toward anyone—regardless of their position—who seeks to undermine the law or endanger citizens and residents.
