Warm days, cool nights expected

KUWAIT: The Meteorological Department has forecast generally warm daytime temperatures and moderate to cool nights over the weekend. Director of the Meteorological Department Dharar Al-Ali told KUNA that Kuwait is currently influenced by the extension of a surface high-pressure system, resulting in stable weather conditions with scattered clouds and light to moderate southeasterly winds.

Al-Ali noted that the weather will be relatively hot with variable southeasterly winds ranging from 6 to 26 km/h, accompanied by scattered clouds. The maximum temperature is expected to range between 29°C and 31°C, while sea conditions will be light to moderate with waves reaching between 1 and 3 feet. By night, temperatures will drop to a moderate to cool range, with light to moderate southeasterly to variable winds at speeds of 6 to 26 km/h. High-altitude clouds are expected, and the minimum temperature will range between 12°C and 14°C. Sea conditions will remain light to moderate, with waves between 1 and 3 feet.

On Friday, the weather will be hot and partly cloudy, with variable winds between 8 and 30 km/h. The maximum temperature is expected to remain between 29°C and 31°C, while sea conditions will be light to moderate, with waves reaching 1 to 4 feet. Friday night will see moderate to cool temperatures, with cloudy skies and southeasterly winds ranging between 12 and 35 km/h. The minimum temperature will range between 13°C and 15°C, and the sea will remain light to moderate with waves between 2 and 4 feet.

Looking ahead to Saturday, Al-Ali stated that the day will be warm and partly cloudy, with light to moderate southeasterly winds at speeds between 10 and 38 km/h. Maximum temperatures will range between 29°C and 31°C, while sea conditions will see waves between 2 and 5 feet. By Saturday night, the weather will turn moderate to cool, with partly to fully cloudy skies. Southeasterly winds will remain light to moderate but may become active along coastal areas, ranging from 12 to 40 km/h. Minimum temperatures are expected between 16°C and 18°C, while sea conditions will be light to moderate, with waves occasionally reaching up to 6 feet. — KUNA

KUWAIT: Namaa Charity, an affiliate of the Social Reform Society, on Tuesday launched the Humanitarian Hub platform (https://humanitarian-hub.org), designed to equip charitable institutions with modern tools that enhance efficiency and enable a shift from short-term relief to long-term sustainable impact. Speaking at the launch ceremony, Namaa Charity CEO Saad Al-Otaibi said the initiative coincides with the anniversary of Kuwait being designated by the United Nations as a “Humanitarian Hub.”

He described the platform as “a bridge between thought and practice,” offering advanced cognitive and applied tools to strengthen transparency, governance, innovation and financial sustainability across the non-profit sector. Al-Otaibi noted that the platform will feature a range of projects and resources, including Humanitarian Hub Magazine as a regular publication on emerging trends, practical guides such as the “AI in Charitable Work” manual, and digital tools like an impact analysis mechanism and a performance dashboard to track operational and financial indicators in real time.

KUWAIT: The meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Ministerial Committee for Cybersecurity Bodies and Centers kicked off in Kuwait with the participation of heads of national cybersecurity authorities from across the Gulf. Chaired by Kuwait, the meeting will address a range of issues aimed at strengthening the region’s cybersecurity system, including executive action plans, cooperation mechanisms, exchange of expertise and joint initiatives to boost digital protection and ensure the continuity of vital services.
