Kuwait, Saudi Arabia ink MoC to boost civil aviation cooperation

KUWAIT: Kuwait’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) signed a memorandum of cooperation (MoC) with the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) on Wednesday, aimed at strengthening technical collaboration and expertise exchange in the civil aviation sector. Speaking to KUNA following the signing ceremony, DGCA Chairman Sheikh Humoud Mubarak Al-Humoud Al-Jaber Al-Sabah stated that the agreement sets a comprehensive framework for cooperation in key areas including training, knowledge sharing, and modernization of operational systems. The MoC also seeks to enhance aviation safety and security in accordance with international standards.

Sheikh Humoud emphasized that the memorandum represents a significant step toward greater integration between the two brotherly nations in the aviation field. He noted that the initiative would bolster the capabilities of national cadres and support efforts to keep pace with rapid technological advancements in the sector.

Meanwhile, President of GACA Abdulaziz Al-Duailej affirmed the importance of the MoC in strengthening coordination between the two countries in technical and training domains. He lauded the deep-rooted strategic ties between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, adding that the agreement reflects a shared vision to advance the regional aviation industry.

During the meeting, both sides discussed the foundation for upgrading operational systems and launching joint training programs. They also explored mechanisms for the mutual exchange of technical personnel and participation in joint initiatives focused on aviation security and safety. These include policy coordination and data sharing to ensure the highest levels of safety and service quality. The signing ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Kuwait, Prince Sultan bin Saad Al Saud. — KUNA
