KUWAIT: The Public Authority for Youth (PAY) has announced the participation of a Kuwaiti youth team in the finals of Huawei’s prestigious global science and technology competition, Seeds for the Future 2025. The competition, currently taking place in China, features 15 teams from across the globe who qualified through regional rounds based on their geographic areas. The event is scheduled to conclude next Friday.
In a press statement, PAY spokesperson Asrar Al-Ansari said the Kuwaiti team comprises students from the College of Engineering at Kuwait University: Talib Al-Rifai, Saad Al-Majidi, Ahmed Al-Qattan, Maryam Al-Mutairi and Ghanima Bou Abbas. She expressed hope that the team would achieve outstanding results in this significant international platform for scientific and technological innovation.

Al-Ansari noted that the team advanced to the global finals after excelling in national selections and securing top rankings in the Middle East and Central Asia regional competition, which was held in Uzbekistan under the direct supervision of Huawei. She extended her gratitude to the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), Kuwait University, and Huawei Kuwait for their support and facilitation of the team’s participation. Al-Ansari emphasized that the Kuwaiti team’s qualification to the finals reflects the capability of Kuwait’s youth to compete at the highest international levels in programming and technological engineering.
She also reiterated PAY’s commitment to supporting young talents, particularly in the scientific and technical sectors, by providing opportunities for growth and excellence. Al-Ansari praised the efforts of the trainers and administrative teams who played a vital role in preparing the students for this global challenge, underscoring their contribution to empowering youth to play a pivotal role in the country’s development. — KUNA
