RIYADH: The Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) recently hosted a distinguished ceremony to honor 12 exceptional young individuals from across the Gulf region, including Kuwait’s own Othman Al-Jiran and Ghanima Al-Mutawa. The event, themed “Gulf Youth – Creativity, Pioneering, Achievement,” was attended by Kuwait’s Minister of Information and Culture, and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi.

In an interview with the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) following the ceremony, Othman Al-Jiran, an agricultural engineer and entrepreneur, expressed his pride in being recognized for his contributions to environmental protection and sustainable farming initiatives, both within Kuwait and abroad. He extended his gratitude to the GCC Secretariat and the Public Authority for Youth (PAY) for their continued support and recognition.

Ghanima Al-Mutawa, another honoree, highlighted her role in advancing the SEEDS Academy’s efforts in sustainability education and green development in collaboration with PAY. “This recognition inspires me to continue promoting sustainability, mitigating the effects of climate change, and contributing to the realization of Kuwait Vision 2035,” Al-Mutawa said with enthusiasm. The ceremony underscored the Gulf region’s commitment to nurturing the talents and contributions of its youth, empowering them to drive positive change in their communities and beyond. — KUNA
