CAIRO: Acting Deputy Director General for Labor Affairs at Kuwait’s Public Authority for Manpower, Musaed Al-Mutairi, affirmed on Saturday Kuwait’s commitment to supporting joint Arab efforts in addressing development issues and enhancing dialogue among the three production parties: workers, employers, and governments.

In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) during his leadership of the Kuwaiti delegation participating in the 51st session of the Arab Labor Organization Conference, which commenced today under the patronage of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, Al-Mutairi emphasized Kuwait’s keenness to participate in events that promote joint Arab work—especially on issues that meet the aspirations of all three labor parties. He noted that Kuwait’s participation in the conference with a delegation representing these parties contributes to fostering coordination and joint Arab cooperation.

He explained that the Kuwaiti delegation will take part in the general sessions of the conference, as well as in meetings of working groups and side events scheduled through April 16. Al-Mutairi also noted that prior to the official opening of the conference, the Kuwaiti delegation chaired the 62nd coordination meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Labor Ministers, during which key items on the agenda of the 51st session were reviewed and discussed to unify GCC positions on shared issues.

He expressed gratitude to the Arab Republic of Egypt for hosting the conference under the generous patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and praised the significant and active participation of member state delegations in the Arab Labor Organization.

Al-Mutairi voiced hope that the conference would produce recommendations that strengthen dialogue among the three production parties and help bring their viewpoints closer, ultimately driving economic development across the Arab world.

The Kuwaiti delegation includes, in addition to Al-Mutairi, Rabeh Al-Rabah, Director General of the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Sabah Al-Aqab, President of the General Federation of Kuwait Workers; and a number of officials and members representing the three parties.

The conference’s opening session featured the honoring of 25 prominent Arab figures recognized for their outstanding contributions to labor, employment, development, and social dialogue. Among those honored were Dr. Fahad Al-Azmi from the Public Authority for Manpower, Mohammad Al-Aradah, advisor to the Kuwait Labor Union, and Mohammad Al-Hudhayna, President of the Arab Federation of Retirees.

The session also included the screening of a short documentary film marking the 60th anniversary of the Arab Labor Organization’s establishment. — KUNA
