KUWAIT CITY, April 28: In a decisive ruling, Kuwait’s Criminal Court sentenced five Jahra police officers to three years in prison with hard labor for allowing a detainee to escape. Prosecutors charged the officers with falsifying police records and violating their official duties. The court warned that no subordinate is obliged to follow illegal orders from superiors. It described the officers’ actions as a serious breach of public trust, asserting that tough penalties are necessary to deter any threats to the rule of law and the integrity of public service.
