Crown Prince welcomes Arab League, Djibouti, Shell leaders

KUWAIT: His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah held a series of significant meetings Monday at Bayan Palace, welcoming high-level delegations from the Arab League, the Republic of Djibouti, and the energy sector. His Highness received Ahmed Aboul Gheit, the Secretary General of the Arab League, and his accompanying delegation.

The meeting, held on the occasion of Aboul Gheit’s official visit to Kuwait, focused on strengthening Kuwait’s role in the Arab League and discussed regional cooperation. The meeting was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya, Director of the Crown Prince’s Office General Jamal Mohammed Al-Thiab, Assistant Foreign Minister for Arab Affairs Ambassador Ahmed Abdulrahman Al-Baker, and Kuwait’s Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Ambassador Talal Khaled Al-Mutairi.

His Highness the Crown Prince also met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Djibouti Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, as part of his visit to Kuwait. This meeting highlighted the strong ties between Kuwait and Djibouti, with discussions on regional cooperation and enhancing bilateral relations. The meeting was also attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs Al-Yahya, General Al-Thiab, and Ambassador Ahmed Abdulrahman Al-Baker.

HH the Crown Prince received a delegation from the energy sector, including Kuwait’s Minister of Oil Tarek Sulaiman Al-Roumi, Wael Sawan, CEO of Shell Global Energy, and Anwar Khalaf Al-Mutlaq, Chairman of the Shell Group. This meeting marked the importance of strengthening Kuwait’s partnership with international energy companies. The discussions also included Shell’s ongoing and future projects in the region. The session was attended by Sheikh Nawaf Saud Nasser Al-Sabah, Deputy Chairman and CEO of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, and General Al-Thiab. — KUNA
