Kuwait participates in global media summit held in India

NEW DELHI: Kuwait took part in the inaugural Global Media and Entertainment Summit, hosted in Mumbai, India’s financial capital, bringing together leading figures from the media, entertainment, and technology industries. Kuwait’s Ambassador to India Mishal Al-Shamali, speaking to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on the sidelines of the summit, highlighted the importance of the event as a platform for innovation across broadcasting, filmmaking, music production, and digital media sectors.

“The summit has become a forum for discussing innovation opportunities in broadcasting, television, film production, music, and digital media,” Al-Shamali said. He added that the gathering offers new prospects for Kuwait’s media and entertainment sectors, opening doors for fruitful collaboration with international partners. The four-day summit is being held at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai and focuses on strengthening the global media and entertainment industries, addressing sector challenges, and exploring ways to drive future growth.

The event attracted prominent leaders from around the world, participating in interactive panel discussions, workshops, and knowledge-sharing sessions. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially inaugurated the summit, praising its role in fostering collaboration among professionals in the audiovisual entertainment fields.

More than 1,100 international participants, including creatives, filmmakers, television professionals, animation and gaming experts, and entertainment technology innovators, are attending the summit. The event is expected to serve as a meeting point for industry leaders, including Bollywood icons Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan, along with global tech executives such as Microsoft’s Satya Nadella and Google’s Sundar Pichai, helping shape the future of the media and entertainment industry. — KUNA
