KUWAIT: The Regional Office of the International Organization for Leisure Activities in Science and Technology (MILSET Asia), based in Kuwait, organized on Monday the fourth annual scientific conference for outstanding secondary school students for the 2024-2025 academic year. The event was held under the patronage of Minister of Education Dr Sayyed Jalal Al-Tabtabaei and witnessed the participation of 112 distinguished students.
Dr Abdullah Al-Mutawa, Head of the MILSET Asia Office, expressed his pride in the success of the scientific gathering, emphasizing the importance of nurturing excellence among students to foster innovation and creativity in service of Kuwait’s development. He called on official bodies, academic institutions, and civil society organizations to support such initiatives, noting that they serve as a foundation for building a brighter and more advanced future.
Al-Mutawa also presented key recommendations derived from student-led workshops and discussion groups, which were conducted under the supervision of subject experts over two consecutive days in mid-April as part of the conference preparations. Regional Director of the MILSET Asia Office Dawood Al-Ahmad praised the collaborative efforts that contributed to the success of the conference. He extended his gratitude to the General Technical Guidance for Science and the Arab Planning Institute for their continued support and cooperation with the organization.
In her remarks, Dalal Al-Masoud from the Ministry of Education’s General Technical Guidance for Science, welcomed students and parents in attendance. She commended MILSET Asia for its ongoing commitment and coordination with the Ministry and other partner institutions, highlighting the conference’s success for the fourth consecutive year.
The event concluded with student representatives presenting a set of recommendations that emerged from the workshops and discussions, to be submitted to the relevant authorities for consideration. Organizers also honored participating students, educators, supervisors, and all contributors whose efforts ensured the success of the conference. – KUNA
