MUSCAT: Chief Executive Officer for Planning and Innovation at Kuwait Oil Company (KOC), Mohammad Al-Abduljaleel, affirmed Kuwait’s commitment to active participation in regional and international energy forums to showcase its leadership in the oil and gas sector. Speaking to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on the sidelines of the Oman Petroleum and Energy Conference and Oman Sustainability Week 2025, Al-Abduljaleel said the company’s involvement reflects Kuwait’s dedication to highlighting its pioneering role in the global energy landscape. The event, which commenced on Monday, is set to conclude on Wednesday.
Al-Abduljaleel noted that KOC’s delegation includes a number of experts and engineers who are presenting technical papers and case studies that spotlight the company’s latest innovations and operational advancements. These include developments in oil and gas operations, as well as strides in health, safety, security, the environment, social responsibility, and sustainability.
He underscored KOC’s ongoing efforts to accelerate digital transformation, enhance operational efficiency, and reinforce its environmental sustainability initiatives in alignment with its responsibilities to future generations. These initiatives, he said, support the objectives of the “New Kuwait 2035” vision and aim to bolster the country’s status as a regional and global hub for energy and technology.
Al-Abduljaleel emphasized the importance of international energy gatherings in facilitating the exchange of knowledge, best practices, and technical expertise, as well as providing opportunities for high-level meetings with industry leaders. He expressed appreciation to Oman’s Minister of Energy and Minerals, Salim Al-Aufi, for sponsoring the event and praised the organizers for their efforts in hosting a world-class forum, highlighting Oman’s capacity to convene major international events.
Deputy CEO for Projects and Engineering at KOC, Fahad Al-Kharqawi, also spoke to KUNA, reiterating the company’s central role in advancing the oil sector through forward-looking strategies that align with global trends. He stressed that KOC remains a key pillar of Kuwait’s economic development and prosperity. Al-Kharqawi attributed KOC’s successes to the dedication of its workforce and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to initiatives that strengthen Kuwait’s position in the global energy arena while promoting comprehensive and sustainable national development.
He added that the sessions at the Oman conference will spotlight cutting-edge sustainability practices, circular economy frameworks, and innovations in energy transition, renewable energy integration, and digitalization. Discussions will also address the future of liquefied natural gas in the region. Over 350 companies from various sectors are taking part in the conference. KOC is participating with a dedicated pavilion, presenting its most notable achievements and projects. The company’s high-level delegation includes, alongside Al-Abduljaleel and Al-Kharqawi, several group managers, team leaders, and senior technical personnel. — KUNA
