KUWAIT CITY, May 14: The Criminal Court sentenced five Iranians to death for smuggling 176 kilograms of hashish by sea. Officers from the Drug Control General Department (DCGD) and the Coast Guard at the Interior Ministry arrested the Iranians. They were then referred to the Public Prosecution, where they confessed during interrogation that they smuggled the drugs for trafficking. Case files indicate that the DCGD officers apprehended the defendants as they entered Kuwaiti territorial waters on a ‘Duba’ boat carrying 13 bags containing the seized drugs.
