General Fire Force Cracks Down on Non-Compliant Facilities in Jahra

KUWAIT CITY, May 27: The General Fire Force carried out an inspection campaign on Tuesday evening in the South Amghara area of Jahra Governorate, in coordination with several government agencies. These included the Ministry of Electricity and Water, the Public Authority for Industry, the Environment Public Authority, Kuwait Municipality, the Food Authority, and the Public Authority for Manpower.

The campaign aimed to identify buildings and facilities that fail to comply with safety and fire prevention regulations. As a result, several violations were recorded, and a number of facilities were administratively closed for not meeting the requirements set by the General Fire Force and other participating authorities.

KUWAIT CITY, May 30: The Kuwait Municipality announced that an inspection tour conducted by teams from the Audit and Services Follow-up Departments in the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate led to the administrative closure of four commercial establishments. According to the Municipality, two cafés in the Abu Al-Hasaniya area were shut down for carrying out activities that disturbed public peace. Additionally, two car dealerships in the West Abu Futaira Industrial Area were closed for operating in unlicensed spaces.

KUWAIT CITY, May 30: Firefighting teams from the Shuwaikh Industrial, Al-Shaheed, Al-Ardiya, and Al-Isnad stations successfully contained a fire that broke out in the basement of an industrial plot storing wood in the Shuwaikh Industrial Area on Thursday evening. The teams promptly responded and brought the blaze under control. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported.

Karma In The Sand: Thieves Steal Car, Get Nowhere Fast

KUWAIT CITY, May 29: In a bizarre incident, two intoxicated individuals stole a vehicle from a stable in the Mutlaa area, but ended up getting both the stolen car and their own vehicle stuck in the desert.

According to details, the stable’s guard informed the Ministry of Interior Operations that a four-wheel drive vehicle belonging to his sponsor had been stolen while he was asleep. A security source stated that the report was immediately circulated among Interior Ministry personnel. While investigators were combing the area, they found the stolen vehicle as the suspects were attempting to free it from the sand.

The source added that the two individuals appeared to be under the influence of drugs and were found in possession of narcotics. During questioning, they confessed that their own car had gotten stuck, prompting them to enter the stable and steal another vehicle to free it, only to get that one stuck as well. In a further twist, the suspects even contacted a rescue service to help recover the vehicles.
