KUWAIT CITY, Aug 19: As part of its unwavering commitment to supporting community development and youth empowerment, NBK sponsored the closing ceremony of “Kilma” program, organized by LOYAC, which is a first of its kind initiative specifically designed for youth aged 12 to 16, with the aim of enhancing their life and academic skills by equipping them with essential public speaking, critical thinking, and leadership skills through interactive debates.
The intensive three-week program, from 27 July until 14 August 2025, took place at NBK’s headquarters, further establishing a motivational and scientific learning environment for the 33participants.
The program focuses on developing a wide range of essential skills, including effective listening to achieve deeper understanding and constructive interaction, critical thinking to gain analysis and enlightened decision making skills, communication and confident speaking to enable clear and persuasive expressive skills, public speaking to help the students prepare influential presentations and develop fluency in front of audiences, case analyses and decision making to develop effective problem solving, and research and data collection skills to enable reaching trusted sources and using them intelligently.
Moreover, “Kilma” program concluded with a friendly competition, in which participants were divided into groups to discuss real pressing issues. This competition provided a unique opportunity to put the skills they acquired into practice, enhancing their ability to work collaboratively, engage in constructive debate, and offer innovative solutions to contemporary challenges.
This strategic collaboration between NBK and LOYAC comes as an embodiment of effective partnerships between the private sector and non-profit organizations, which aim to prepare a generation of leaders capable of facing future challenges and contributing effectively to building their nation.
