KUWAIT: Indian Ambassador to Kuwait, Dr Adarsh Swaika hosted a farewell diwaniya, on Sunday, at the Indian Embassy, to mark the end of his diplomatic mission in the country. Speaking on the sidelines of the event, Ambassador Swaika stated “I wanted to bid farewell to Kuwait in a meaningful way by hosting a final gathering in the traditional form of a diwaniya. This is a beautiful tradition that has always been close to my heart during the past three years I spent here.”
Ambassador Swaika highlighted that the evening provided an opportunity to reconnect with friends and partners with whom he had worked closely during his tenure in Kuwait, noting the strong bonds and successful projects they shared. He concluded “I will carry the memory of this wonderful diwaniya as one of the most special moments of my time in Kuwait. Perhaps it would be a great idea to organize a similar gathering for ambassadors in Kenya, and I will do my best to make it happen.”
The event was attended by several prominent figures, including the Governor of Jahra, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense, former president of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society Hilal Al-Sayer, and the former Minister of Health. Also present were a number of leading newspaper editors-in-chief, political commentators, the Secretary General of OPEC, and the Director General of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters.
