Kuwait Police Seize Vehicles, Arrest Violators in Nationwide Traffic Operations

KUWAIT CITY, Sep 24: As part of its ongoing efforts to maintain public safety and regulate traffic, the Ministry of Interior, represented by the General Traffic Department — including the Security Control Department and the Traffic Investigations Unit — has carried out a series of intensive security and traffic campaigns across the country. These campaigns, conducted between September 13 and September 20, 2025, focused on monitoring traffic behavior, apprehending reckless drivers, and addressing violations through strict legal measures.

The week-long operations resulted in the following outcomes:

  • 168 traffic citations were issued for various violations.
  • 21 individuals were placed in precautionary detention.
  • 36 vehicles and motorcycles were impounded due to traffic offenses.
  • 11 juveniles were arrested for driving vehicles without a valid license.
  • 74 individuals were apprehended for not carrying identification documents.
  • One person was referred to the Environment Police for breaching environmental regulations.
  • One wanted individual was successfully arrested.

The Ministry of Interior emphasized that such campaigns will continue in all governorates as part of its strategy to reduce reckless driving, curb violations, and enhance road safety. Authorities also urged citizens and residents to cooperate by reporting traffic violations or reckless behavior. The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the safety of all road users and reducing behaviors that threaten public security and order.
