Two Asians arrested in Kuwait for running a sophisticated bootlegging operation

Kuwait authorities dismantle large-scale illegal liquor factory in Abdali.

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 25: In a major crackdown on illicit activities, Kuwait’s Criminal Security Sector has dismantled a large-scale local liquor factory operated by two Asian nationals in the Bar Al-Abdali area, the Ministry of Interior announced on Wednesday.

The suspects, who were arrested by the General Department for Drug Control, had been running a sophisticated alcohol manufacturing and bottling plant. Authorities say the duo used advanced equipment and counterfeit labels to falsely market the locally produced liquor as imported brands.

During the operation, security forces seized high-tech bottling machinery, industrial-grade presses, and a substantial quantity of counterfeit brand labels — tools used to deceive buyers and pass off illicit alcohol as legitimate, imported spirits.

The suspects, along with all confiscated items, have been referred to the relevant authorities for legal action.

The Ministry of Interior reiterated its commitment to ongoing security operations aimed at curbing illegal activities and protecting public health. It emphasized a zero-tolerance policy toward anyone involved in such unlawful practices, vowing to continue its intensified enforcement and inspection campaigns nationwide.
