KUWAIT CITY, Sept 24: Kuwaiti Customs officials successfully intercepted an attempt to smuggle more than 10 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine concealed inside bags of animal feed on a ship arriving at Doha Port.
The General Administration of Customs announced Wednesday that after thorough inspection and verification of the entire shipment — comprising 216 tons of fodder — they uncovered approximately 10.724 kilograms of crystal meth hidden within the cargo. Authorities confirmed the vessel carried no other prohibited items.
Following the discovery, the ship was immediately detained, and all necessary legal procedures were promptly initiated. The seized narcotics were handed over to the relevant authorities for further action.
In a statement, the General Administration of Customs affirmed its ongoing commitment to implementing the Ministry of Interior’s directives. The statement emphasized intensified efforts to combat smuggling attempts and safeguard Kuwait’s security and stability from any threats.
