KUWAIT: Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya affirmed on Thursday that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is closely monitoring the situation concerning the detention of a number of Kuwaiti citizens who took part in the Global Freedom Flotilla.
In a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Al-Yahya stressed that the Ministry is exerting all possible efforts to ensure their safety and to secure their release at the earliest possible time. He emphasized that the well-being of Kuwaiti nationals is a top priority and that no effort will be spared in this regard.
The Global Freedom Flotilla, which set sail from Spain earlier this year, aims to break the Israeli blockade on Gaza. It consists of more than 50 vessels carrying hundreds of participants from over 44 countries. — KUNA
