KUWAIT: Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi expressed Saturday pride and happiness that Kuwait will host the first edition of the Emirates Falcons International Cup next December.
In a press statement following his chairing of the first meeting of the tournament organizing committee, Minister Al-Mutairi said the launch of the inaugural edition of this major championship in Kuwait reflects the strong bonds of brotherhood between Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates in all fields under the patronage of the political leadership of the two sister countries.”
This hosting is a source of great pride and a sincere embodiment of the deep-rooted brotherly relations between Kuwait and the UAE,” he reiterated.The minister praised the efforts of the sisterly United Arab Emirates in preserving the heritage of falconry, commending in particular the role of the UAE Falcons Federation and its President Sheikh Ahmad bin Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum in to globalize falconry as an Arab sport and cultural heritage.
The tournament, supported by the International Federation for Falconry Sports and Racing (IFFSR), will feature substantial prizes, with the total prize pool for the first edition in Kuwait estimated to be around AED 500,000 (approx. KD 40,000). — KUNA
