ACD Sec Gen, Russian FM boost bilateral ties
MOSCOW: On October 7, 2025, Nasser Al Motairi, Secretary General of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD), met with Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Moscow. The meeting focused on current and future cooperation between Russia and the ACD, highlighting strong collaboration across multiple sectors, including economic, sports, and multilateral initiatives.
Minister Lavrov described the ACD as a “promising organization” that continues to gain momentum in advancing Asia’s cooperative agenda. He reaffirmed Russia’s commitment, in partnership with other stakeholders, to support the ACD’s activities, notably through the first-ever ACD Ministerial Meeting on Sports, scheduled to be hosted in Samara, Russia, in November 2025. The discussions took place during Al Motairi’s visit to Moscow to participate in the Second International Symposium, reflecting the ongoing efforts to deepen ties and promote collaboration between Russia and the ACD.
