KUWAIT: The Abdulrazzaq Mosque in Singapore has highlighted Kuwait’s enduring legacy in serving both the Islamic and wider Singaporean community, a Singaporean official said during the mosque’s 60th anniversary celebrations. Speaking at the event, attended by Kuwaiti Ambassador to Singapore Ahmad Al-Shuraim, Singaporean Acting Minister-in-Charge of Muslim Affairs, Associate Professor Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim, praised Kuwait for its efforts in promoting the teachings of Islam abroad.
He commended the mosque for its six decades of service and its positive impact on Singapore through a variety of community programs. The minister noted that the mosque has embraced the digital era, providing services and outreach through cyberspace and social media platforms.
A statement from the Kuwaiti Embassy highlighted that the Abdulrazzaq Mosque was constructed in 1965 and officially inaugurated in 1966 under the auspices of Singapore’s first President, Yusof bin Ishak. Since then, it has remained a vital social and religious institution, symbolizing the strong ties between Kuwait and Singapore.
