KUWAIT: The Al-Ojairi Scientific Center announced on Saturday that six photographers from Kuwait and the Gulf region secured top positions in the Arab Astronomy Photography Competition. The contest, held under the patronage of the Center in collaboration with the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), the Physics Department at Kuwait University, and the Kuwait Space Research Center, attracted dozens of participants from Kuwait, other GCC states, and across the Arab world.
Yousef Al-Ojairi, Director General of the Center, told KUNA that entries were evaluated in three categories: “Blood Moon,” “Lunar Eclipse Phases,” and “Lunar Eclipse with Landscape.” The winning Kuwaiti photographers included Dawood Sebae in the “Lunar Eclipse with Landscape” category, Sameera Mahmoud in “Lunar Eclipse Phases,” and Khaled Al-Mutairi in “Blood Moon.” Al-Ojairi highlighted that competitions of this nature aim to cultivate a passion for astronomy, promoting engagement among students, academics, and enthusiasts in the field. — KUNA
