KUWAIT CITY, Oct 18:The Court of Cassation refrained from punishing a Jordanian accused of setting fire to a Pizza Hut branch in Jabriya. Instead, it ordered him to sign a one-year pledge of good behavior and pay a bail of KD300. It overturned the two-year prison sentence imposed by the lower courts. The Cassation Court decided after finding out that a similar ruling — refraining from imposing punishment — was issued previously when the defendant set fire to a Starbucks branch in Rumaithiya.
